Introduction

Welcome to the Home Page for the System Safety Process Management (SSPM) training workshop, a 5 day workshop delivered virtually by Atkins’ experienced safety trainers to reinforce learning from the SSPM Online Training (SSPMOL). The purpose of this page is to provide participants the opportunity to familiarise themselves with:

  • The format of the SSPM Workshops
  • The SSPM Home Page
  • The SSPM Course Timetable
  • Any useful information that could support learning

SSPM Format

The basis of the SSPM workshop, is that groups of up to 6 participants work together virtually to complete the workshop activity, with the opportunity for support from the Atkins tutors who are experienced safety practitioners. The workshops will be based upon the development of the Oil Storage, Separation and Transfer System (Oil SSTS) through the acquisition process.

The workshop is supported virtually using TEAMS, with participants and tutors located throughout the country. If you have not already done so, please ensure you have visited our virtual test page to ensure you are ready to participate in the workshops.

Once you have been assigned a team, you will be placed in a breakout group with the rest of the team for each workshop, where you will be able to work collaboratively within your Team’s Home Area.

SSPM Home Page

The SSPM Home Page provides the gateway to the SSPM course material, with links at the top of the page to:

  • The SSPM scenario
    • This SSPM workshops are structured around the development of the Oil Storage, Separation and Transfer System (Oil SSTS), from concept through to disposal. Whilst you do not need to be an expert in the Oil Industry and the Oil SSTS is 100% made-up, participants may wish to familiarise themselves with the scenario before the workshop.
  • Each Team’s Home Area
    • Each team has dedicated working area, which will provide relevant/additional information for the workshops and a range of interactive tools to enable participants to contribute simultaneously to achieve the workshop aims.  In most cases participants can also download a copy of their work for their own information.
  • Information Page
    • Whilst there is no requirement to download or print information out for the SSPM Workshop, this page contains PDF copies of all presentations and handout material, and a few useful links. Participants way wish to familiarise themselves with some of the useful information prior to the workshop.
