Overview

This workshop aims to increase your understanding of Functional Hazard Asessments, using the example of a voyager ARR Pod.

Workshop Objective

The top level aircraft FHA has identified refuelling equipment on the wing as introducing new hazards to the aircraft. As such, a system level FHA of the refuelling pod is required to understand the associated hazards and ffed them into the aircraft level safety assessment.

The objective of the workshop is to consider the top level functions of the refuelling pod and to identify failure conditions and the associated classifications while considering both loss of function and malfunction of the refuelling pod during all phases of flight.

  • Select a FHA Leader and Recorder. The leader will facilitate the FHA workshop under the guidance of the tutor. The Recorder will populate the FHA worksheets.
  • Carry out a FHA study for the refuelling pod, using table below
